How To: Upper Lip Threading

Upper lip threading is a precise and effective hair removal technique that offers smooth, hair-free skin. Here's a step-by-step guide to doing it yourself, along with how Bayou Spa uses expert techniques to minimise discomfort.

Step-by-Step Upper Lip Threading:

1. Prepare the Area: Cleanse your upper lip area with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt and oil. Pat dry.

2. Prepare the Thread: Use a 100% cotton thread. Cut a piece about 30 cm long, then tie the ends together to create a loop.

3. Twist the Thread: Hold the thread with both hands, twisting it 5-6 times to create a twisted section in the middle. This twisted section is what will grab and pull the hair out.

4. Position the Thread: Place the twisted section against the skin, holding it taut with one hand while the other moves the thread back and forth. The twisting motion will catch and remove the hairs.

5. Aftercare: Soothe the area with a cooling gel or aloe vera to reduce redness and irritation.

At Bayou Spa Kensington, our threading specialists use precise techniques to ensure effective hair removal while minimising pain. We focus on creating a comfortable experience, leaving your skin smooth and irritation-free.
